Flooding can happen when you least expect it. Whether it’s from a storm or a burst pipe, flooding damage is not a welcome situation. Here at Soil-Away Restoration, we understand the stress of dealing with flooding and flooding damage. Here is our process of how we help families get their homes back after flooding.

Inspection

The first thing we do when we arrive on site is to inspect the flood-damaged area. This inspection tells us what kind of water and level of damage we are dealing with. First and foremost, these are matters of safety for the homeowners and our team. We take pictures during the inspection to help you with the insurance claim. The inspection also helps us develop our plan of action.

Dry Out

All of the flood water has to be pumped out of the flood-damaged area before restoration can begin. This is done with the use of heavy pumps. If any water is left it can lead to biohazardous growths such as black mold. We search for hidden moisture pockets with the help of hydrometers and infrared cameras. Once all the water is pumped out we dry out the area with fans and dehumidifiers.

Restoration

During the restoration phase, we remove all unsalvageable debris. Flooding damage affects different types of items differently and we make sure we salvage everything we can. All salvageable items are removed from the damaged area and cleaned. Once the place is completely restored we will bring the items back to their rightful place. We can even place your items in a storage facility until the work is done.

Final Inspection

Once all the repairs have been made to the affected area our team will walk through and assess that all the work is done and the area is restored. After we have ensured that the flood damage is restored we will walk through the repairs with the owner. We’ll explain the process and procedures we used to restore the flooding. We will also help by moving the possessions back into place so that space is completely restored.

Insurance Claim

Finally, we assist with the insurance claim process. We work with insurance providers and adjusters. All the photos we take of the damage are provided to the insurance company to help with the claim process. And we also provide all of our restoration documentation. We try to make the process as easy as possible for our customers.
